Studies Reveal New Compound That Will Help You Workout More and Lose Weight
Have you ever thought of exercise in a pill, or a pill that will increase your exercise levels? Recent research has just found a new compound that may be effective in promoting weight loss (lose weight).
Losing weight entails proper diet as well as adequate exercise. These two factors in losing weight require a lot of discipline in order to them. However, there are times that you just don’t feel like exercising, which mark the decline in your motivation to lose weight. People need as much motivation as possible in order to undertake exercise regularly, but even motivation will not help you fight your feelings when you don’t want to exercise that day.
Working out is a serious endeavor that will help you in achieving your weight loss goals. Scientists have found a compound that can improve your ability to exercise and which can help overcome lack of motivation on those days when you don’t want to exercise.
This compound found in a recent research may be a new and safe way to help with weight loss. Considered as a pill that will make you want to exercise more and hence help you experience more weight loss benefits, the question is: can there really be a weight loss pill that will make you exercise harder? The research published in the FASEB Journal may just be the answer to this question.
The research was conducted by a group of Swiss researchers and found a hormone that motivated mice to exercise more. Erythropoietin is a hormone produced by the kidneys to stimulate the bone marrow to produce red blood cells. However, the erythropoietin used in the study was not observed to increase the RBC (red blood cell) level in mice.
How is research done?
The research utilized three groups of mice. One group was used as a control group that did not receive any treatment. Another group was given injectable Human Epo or erythropoietin and the other group included mice that were genetically modified to produce Human Epo in their brains.
What is the result?
The result of the study showed that mice who received Human Epo as well as the genetically modified mice had increased running performance and frequency of activity as compared to the group of mice that did not receive anything. The results show that Epo increases the will and motivation to exercise among mice.
What inference acknowledged?
The researchers acknowledged the fact that Epo might have improved the mood of mice, which could also be applicable to humans. An improved mood may also lead to an increase in physical activity of people as well as increased motivation and drive to exercise. With this in mind, Epo may also be seen as a possible management tool for mood disorders such as depression, and as a way to induce positive mood changes in affected people.
The Epo used in the study may just be what we need. If you cannot actually have exercise in a pill, then maybe the next best thing is having the motivation to exercise inside a pill, which will help make you want to do more exercise when you take them.
The increasing number of people who develop obesity or become overweight requires more management in order to help these people lose weight. Therefore, the result of the research still needs to be studied in larger scale experiments in order to evaluate more the efficacy of erythropoietin in increasing the drive of people to work out or exercise more.
